It doesn't connect to you, it connects to the placenta.

it is connected to the placenta. THe placenta is insaid the urites. Everything u eat gives off vitamens and nutrients and the body give these to the baby by placeing the nutrients and vitamens in the placenta. even if u dont eat enught for the both of u the baby will get they befor u. After u dilver the baby u have to deliver the placenta too. You dont feel the placenta though. I went through this so i know.

it connects to the placenta, which is i believe mostly blood, and lots of fiberous tissue. everything you ingest, enters your blood stream, which passes through the placenta, then through the umbillical cord, then to your baby. the placenta surrounds the baby, inside the uterus. good luck with the new baby!

Could someone please further explain what the placenta connects to? How do blood and nutrients transfer across it? How does it disconnect during birth?
