Basically the other person is correct. you need to get an atty.
They will need to petition the court to serve him by publication.
if he is served by publication and does not show then you get the divorce by default.
the only hitch in this is if he is in the military. then there are different rules and I can not help you there.

as far as I know you will have to put an add in the news paper of where they lived before and show the lawyer or judge proof and then it should be ok but talk to someone at the courts.

get a lawyer, i saw this on tv.
the lawyer will tell you to put a search ad of a certain size in the paper.
then if he never shows, u get an automatic divorce
do it with a lawyer though cuz i not sure
