I'm almost 13 and I've never had a period. What are they like? Do they hurt?

First, do not worry so much, its a natural part of being a woman. The pain varies from woman to woman, some women get cramps, something like a mild stomache ache , others do not have any pain at all. You will notice some blood when you go to the bathroom. At that time you use a pad or a tampon to protect your underpants from the blood. The first day or two might be heavier than the rest, the last days are barely noticable. A month later it starts again. Have a pad or tampon with you in case you start at school. Its better to be prepared than to panic. A pad is usually easiest the first time you get a period. Ask your mom, an aunt or a trusted older woman and they will help you. Just remember its your body saying you are now old enough to get pregnant.

Periods are different for everyone.Mine only lasted 3 days,1 heavy two light and i was done. Some females last a whole week and the flow can be almost hemorrhage like, to spotting. Some females feel a ''fluttering'' in the area of their ovaries just before they start each month, some females tummy may swell and ''cramp'' as well as lower back pain.It can range from mild to moderate to unbearable at times.MIDOL and thermal heat patches are great to use for this problem. You will have them soon enough so don't rush it hon.

If you have not had your period by 16, then you should see a doctor. Every girl is different. Some start as early as 10.
Some girls have stomach cramps. Mostly to me it is a nuisance.
Be patient, you are normal, and your period will come.

They are just an inconvenience. You often feel tired and fat and have to remember to bring a tampon or pad with you where ever you go. The cramping hurts sometimes and there can be low back pain, but that usually goes away with some asprin

You will bleed when you have your period. I think it's best if you wait a little longer. Some have their period when their in their twenty's. So don't worry. And yes you will have cramps on your stomache. You will not enjoy it.

no. they dont hurt at all. you can barely feel it. the cramps however can be a pain sometimes. I'm not trying to be rude, but you really shouldn't be asking that here. if u are curious, ask your mom, or a sister, aunt, grandmother or a nurse. that's also why they have Sex Ed class.
