Hello,
Okay, I went to Sonic and ordered a chicken sandwich, went home started eating it when i realized the chicken wasnt cooked. The middle was raw. Of course I took it back and got my money back but I'm wondering since there is a slight chance i swallowed a small piece of raw chicken, what are the chances of me getting sick or food poisoning? Is there any thing I can do at home without having to go to the hospital that will prevent it from doing what ever it does lol. I realllllly dont want to get sick. I've had food poisoning before and it was Terrible. I wouldnt wish it on my worse enemy. So you can see why I dont want to get sick, Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Well, if you do get sick from undercooked chicken it will most likely be Salmonella. Like others have said, a small piece is not as likely to make you sick. But the people who said "you'd be sick by now" are wrong because salmonella can take 48 hours to incubate. Unfortunately there's no preventive treatment, and even if you come down with it all you can do is guard against dehydration until it goes away

I don't think there is anything you can do after the fact. I think it would get into your system so quick. If you are not sick in one hour I would think you are ok but in case I am wrong why not call an after hours clinic and ask, Some hospitals will give information like that out if you call the ER. Good luck, My thoughts are with you.

You may not get sick. You said you ingested, perhaps,
a small piece of uncooked chicken....sometimes nothing
happens.....but you have reasons to worry.....especially
when you have gotten ill before.
Meat and poultry must be well cooked....at all times..
If you get sick, call the Health Dept. and place a "Food
Poisoning Report"
If you stopped eating the chicken once you saw it was raw
inside, most likely you are going to be fine.

FIRST... I know what you mean about food poisoning~
Second... I would drink way to much water or other beverage ... possibly a shot of JD to kill any live bacteria.

MONDAY you BETTER call public health and TURN THEM IN for raw food.

You're probably pretty safe, under cooked chicken doesn't always have Salmonella, but there isn't anyway to stop or cure it if you were exposed. You can only treat symptoms (sorry)

Drink LOTS of water, if you were exposed it will help keep you hydrated through diarrhea.

I highly doubt you will get sick ....It would have to have salmonella 1st before you can get food poisoning, I have eaten chicken undercooked before and didn't get sick from it...so don't worry to much your chances are slim.

try to eat lots of fiber so you can get rid of it quickly or you can eat lettuce and garlic because they contain natural antioxidants that fight harmful things in the body. by the way, your picture is nice, you look very cute. good luck

All animals eat their food raw (uncooked). But they also eat it freshly killed. I hope you are OK. You have an adorable face. Food poisoning is no big deal. Just don't eat and your stomach does not digest it and you vomit it up.
