Create a scrapbook of pictures with all the happy memories from their life together. Not a two or three page scrapbook, but a 50-60 page book! Go to a local scrapbooking place to learn how to do it really great! It's cheap and they have fabulous ideas! If at all possible do this without destroying the pictures. THIS could get pricey if you have to buy lots of ink jet cartridges. You also could get your Mom to help, which will get those memories right under her nose. Good Luck! Remember that a divorce does not in any way show fault in you.

Sweet heart-

You need to help YOU. Contact and AA center near you and they will direct you to someone who has been in your shoes-locally. This all free- go to a meeting. YOU!

I know your pain-first hand. The reality of people you love doing and changing in way that hurts you is difficult to deal with for anyone at any age. Yet as a child witnessing this, its really hard!

Let's make one thing very clear this situation is NOT about you at all. You are a pawn in this game and sorry dear- you can't change it.

You honestly can not imagine the PAIN your mother has gone through and I pray you never Never know such pain.

An alcoholic is not a part time thing it is a always and forever thing, it is a disease like cancer or aids! Very serious!

Your Father needs to "feel and know" what Rock Bottom is in his world and sorry that mean hurting you and your Mom, it part of that downward spiral. He must be sober for one calendar year before anything he said can be believed, this disease is deceptive and cruel- even to the drinker.

Your Mom needs help too- YOU!
Its okay to be mad and upset-its really out of your control.
Find a healthy way to release that pain-okay!
Your in my thoughts. As is your entire family.

It's not about you. You can't make them fall in love again. Only them have that power. Sometimes it's better after they separate because the fighting stops. Then the parents get along better and everyone is happier. You are going through the thoughest part right now. It really sucks but you can't do anything for it. Remember that nothing of this is your fault. It's their relationship.

Sorry, really, I wish you the best. Good luck.

I don't think you can make someone fall back in love. Sometimes love just isn't enough. Although it's really bad timing for you I think you need to try and be supportive for them. Try to remember they're not divorcing you and that they still love you. It wouldn't have been an easy decision for your mum and I'm sure she's given it so much thought. You should be proud of her for standing up and saying enough.
Maybe some time apart will do them good in the long run.

Not a lot that you can do. Sounds like your mother has enough of your dad's drinking and anger issues, your mother is doing what she feels is best to protect herself and you ( and your siblings, if you have any). Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

You can not make anyone fall in love and that includes your parents. Voice your feelings to both parents and let them know how you are feeling about all this.

Ask them to go to counseling-a great place to go is any local church, the pastors can be of great help and it is free.
