She's probably too old for this, but there is a great battery operated horse called Butterscotch - it is about the size of a miniature horse. It responds to touch and voice and it is just the neatest toy - A bunch of us "adults" could not stop playing with it the other day. It is pricey, about $400.

You could start her collecting Breyer Horses. They are for collecting & not a toy, but there is a really good variety & you can be the one who gives a different one each year & even for her Birthday. Go online & look for them they have a GREAT one for you to start her out with... It's called the Gypsy Vanner.....(Gypsy King)
Sorry,,,,,, www.BreyerHorses.com

Can you get her a lesson or two? Otherwise a book on the breeds of horses, or "the Heavenly Horses", or one of my favorites, My Horses, My Teachers by Alois Podhajsky and Eva Podhajsky.

While I was in the mall today, I noticed some nice "furry/fuzzy" bed spreads. There were dozens of prints to choose from .. one of them had a mare nuzzling her colt, printed on it. I think she'd love something like that.

find a local farm that does horse rides, etc and get her a few rides.
or use it for a horse (summer) camp and let her go for a week.
