Evolution is both a theory and a proven fact. Evolution can be observed in the laboratory and the field, and the underlying mechanisms evaluated. This is fact. The broader theory, interpolating the connections between organisms is and will always be a theory, but is tested and every fossil find and every new genome sequenced makes the picture clearer. Just because it can never be shown beyond a shadow of a doubt, does not make it at all unsound. The theory is robust with extensive evidence. It will never prove or disprove the existence of God, as this is beyond the scope of evolution and the capacity of Man.
The teaching of evolution in schools, like every other subject, is a function of the quality of the teacher and the interest of the students. It is the theoretical basis of the biological science, and should be taught prior to college. It takes years to truly understand the field, so an early start is important.

Actually it is still a theory... and it always will be... and not because of its controversy or any religious sentiment. The definition of a theory is any postulate (i.e. a possible explanation) that has accumulated sufficient evidence to support it as a viable explanation of the collected data or facts and has not yet been proven wrong or inconsistent by those same data or facts. Contrary to the beliefs of many, Evolution is not a fact nor will it ever be a fact by definition.
A fact is a packet of information that has been proven to be true in every situation and circumstance. Unfortunately for Evolution, like practically every other historical theory (i.e. one that tries to explain what has happened in the past), it can never stand up to that test. The only way to prove that Evolution is a fact is to literally go back in time, and physically trace out every physical descendant of every organism that currently exists on the planet... how far can you trace back your own ancestry? Yes, we have clues that suggest that certain changes have occurred from the fossil record but there is no way to prove that one organism is a direct physical descendant of another. In fact, it was not that long ago that paleontologists considered the Neanderthal to be one of the ancestors of humans, which has of course been disproven by mitochondrial DNA analysis.
What we have in Evolution is a long chain of loops in which each of the links are hidden from view. Because it appears to be in a straight line, it is easy for the observer to jump to the conclusion that all the loops are connected into a strong chain. But there is no way to prove that the loops are truly linked or just sitting side by side. And once in a while, a "link" is uncovered only to show that adjacent loops are not connected at all.
Unfortunately for now and forever, the Theory of Evolution will always be a theory, despite one's convictions or lack there of.

You know evolution is fact. The theory of evolution by natural selection, is a theory. So is the theory of gravity. You ignore the theory of gravity at your peril. Perhaps, that is how the theory could be taught better in schools. Bio-medicians surely could use a better grounding in evolutionary theory. It matters not what humans accept, because what is true, is true. Humans are evolved organisms, whether they can face it, or not. We do not shirk knowledge, whether it is complicated or frightening, but face it and deal with it.

Evolution is theory and fact. Theories are not 'promoted' to fact, they are more complete than facts - they contain facts. A theory is a term for a broad subject area, like gravity, or atomic physics, or germ theory, which includes many known facts and laws. Evolution is one of the best-supported theories in science, with millions of pieces of evidence to support it, from the fossil record to genetic evidence.
Most people accept this. Most people outside the US and Turkey, that is. Because there, they are too religious, and they let a few narrow-minded priests stuck in the middle ages tell them what to believe. You probably want to go with whichever idea has the most backing it up. And that's science.

It's the language that's confusing.
There is evolution which I think I can prove to you since I have a collection of fossils that were dug up while taking geology in college.
Now along with this there is Human Evolution which is what gets all the attention.
It's okay if animals die off, change, improve over time, develop sub-species; but don't mess with humans!

You look to assist theistic creationism. It facilitates evolution, organic selection etc yet lists a supernatural reason (God) to get each and every thing going. Evolution is an theory. In technology "concept" does no longer mean 'wager." In technology yet another observe for concept is "rationalization" The in many situations occurring information have been considered and a proof has been more suitable. whilst new information are got here upon the reason being bolstered or it relatively is going to get replaced to account for the hot information. With the reason of Evolution, it relatively is been around for a hundred and fifty years and no substantial guideline has been disproved.even nonetheless, an theory is on no account 'shown" with absolute fact. think of of a television tutor with a witness on the stand. The criminal expert asks "isn't it plausible that..." and calls for a "specific" or "no" answer. How approximately "isn't it plausible you will win the lottery this night even nonetheless you probably did no longer purchase a cost ticket?" (specific it relatively is plausible. do in simple terms no longer ask what the possibilities are) shop this in techniques. it relatively is a concern. it relatively is been raining for each week. a chum walks in soaking moist, donning rain kit and complains of moist it particularly is. Your "concept" is they have been outdoors in the rain. Now tutor your concept. isn't it plausible that: it particularly is a pragmatic shaggy dog tale? the hearth sprinklers in simple terms went off in the hallway? Your chum became in a water balloon combat? You get the image. no rely how specific you're, you are able to no longer rule out yet another possibility. even nonetheless, you are able to evaluate the possibilities (see the lottery question) and confirm that your concept is extra useful then any of the others.

Evolution is a fact, populations of organisms DO change over time, the Darwinian Theory of Evolution is a scientific theory which explains how Evolution occurs.

Evolution is a theory that does the best job of explaining all factual evidence (fossils, carbon dating, DNA analysis)
Religion is (and was) there to improve humans, both as individuals and as a society, not to explain how things work in nature.

It's actually a theory because it can't be proven true right now.
Theories differ from facts in that theories can be changes or completely removed.
Facts proven wrong are no longer facts.
Evolution takes a very very long time to take place, over hundreds of thousands of years.
The theory with Charles darwin isn't even 500 years old.
Theories are also universally accepted until proven wrong.
