Would the common, everyday NFL football fan (non-Giants fan, non-fantasy-football-playing fan), know who Jeremy Shockey is? Is he a superstar in the NFL? I say that the VAST majority of average football watchers would know who Shockey is, my friend thinks he is waaaaaaaaaaaay less-known than "superstar" Terrell Owens. While I concede that TO is MORE well known, I think the difference is minimal...if you don't watch football you won't know who either one of them is, if you do, I think you'll know who both of them are. It's a confusing question, I know, but he's driving me nuts w/this and I am honestly trying to find out if I am wrong. Thanks!

While I agree with you that anyone that is the least bit interested in football recognizes Jeremy Shockey, I also have to agree with your friend that says he waaaaaaaaaay less-known than Terrell Owens. Terrell Owens is such a loud mouth that he is recognized by people not even remotely interested in football. So yes ....... you're both right.

Shockey is one of the top 3 TEs in the NFL. He also talks a lot of smack, is very fiery, and is the key to the Giants being able to have a balanced offense. Anyone who claims to follow the NFL in the least should know who Jeremy Shockey is.

well, if u are an actual football fan, you'll know jst about all the WR, RB, QB, and TE from each team. I mean how do u not know who jeremy shockey is, he's the leader on the giants right now, also he may not be that well known to some people because he's underrated, he never gets the ball and when he does its usually a shovel or lob and he gets hit right away. To elaborate, don't you know who antonio gates on the chargers, alge crumpler onthe falcons, gonzalez on the chiefs, clark on the colts are.

People outside of being Giants fans are probably going to know who Jeremy Shockey is, if not for the fact that he's a really good tight end, then for the fact that he's a pretty vocal player, especially when things aren't going well with the Giants. He's kind of got that loud-mouth T.O. quality but is far less annoying and not some kind of crazy screw up like T.O is.
