Do I need to buy a new sound card? I tried installing my old sound card called Pinnacle PCTV/Pro V 5.2 but it said that it was faulty and didn't pass the test for Windows XP. My speakers and sound don't work at all now. It worked fine before I installed windows XP. I don't have the internet installed on this computer because I only keep it for my son to play games on it. Is there any other way to make the sound work?

yeah its a common problem, u need to install audio and video drivers from ur motherboard CD.
If u reinstall Xp it will be restored Coz Xp has an inbuilt drivers. To avoid this problem, use an external sound card so that it will not be affected by OS

first, windows Xp and windows 200 are differnet oporating systems. I suggest that you do a windows update to find new drivers for your sound card.
to do this, go to start menu, control panel, and on the left side there should be a thing called windows update. click on that. it will search your computer for stuff that it needs. it will ask you whether you want to do express or custm, do custom. then it will bring up a window with differnet updates for your computer. on the lest side there should be: hardware updates, software updates, and one other. if there are any hard ware updates click on it and check all of them. then click install updates, and it should work after that.
