I am turning 11 and I love figure skating, but don't want just a regular skating party. I want it to be fun and all of the guests to do stuff together, not just with their friends. Please real answers only!

P.S. I want something that isn't so expensive! I mean, it can be a bit pricy but not crazy pricy! Also, does anyone have any cheap, good limo services in Hawaii?

When my daughter turned 11 two years ago, I rented out a skating rink for her whole class (28 kids). I had t-shirts made up for the invitations that they all had to wear to get in. Girls wore pink with the # 11 on the back and the boys wore black with # 11 on the back. The kids requested all their favorite songs that the whole class participated in like the cha cha slide or the YMCA and they all had a blast. They did couples skate twice and then girls had to ask boys to skate for a song and vise a versa. They still talk about what a great party it was. You do not need to rent out the whole roller rink like we did so pick an afternoon or night that is least busy.

Why don't you try a theme of some sort? Are there any movies you really like or a tv show? You could ask people to come dressed as their favorite characters from the movie and play games and have food that are associated with the movie. I'm not sure if you know the movie, but we had a Super Troopers inspired party and it was very fun!

Mad Hatters Party: you could have everyone meet at your house before the party and make their own party hats. 1) PREPARE AHEAD for each person a hat for each person. A COUPLE WEEKS TO A FEW DAYS AHEAD : - a grocery store regular size brown bag. (or for smaller heads a medium size bag) Have an older person help you. Roll / kinda fold the bottom edge on the bag upward- just as you would your shirt sleeve or pant bottoms to make the brim of the hat. Every hat will look a little different at first- once decorated they will be beautiful as everyone is creative in their own way. Next, have one or two colors of spray paint to spray the entire outsides of each hat. Roll all hats first before beginning the spray paint job. This is actually very easy to do, however- do have an adult do the spraying as it is possible for the nozle to come off and spray into your eyes. This is dangerous for a child to do.
2) Let painted hats dry. They are now ready for your guests fun.
3) PARTY TIME- DECORATING FUN- You need a work space for everyone- on the floor of garage, outside on patio if not windy, or at a kitchen table. Always put lots of newspaper doWn or old sheet to work on as to leave less of a mess. 4) DECORATING MATERIALS : Scissors. You need glue or glue gun(which drys fast and can be found in 99cent store... or a tacky glue for things like glitter and paper. Go light on glue as dries quicker. Have a big grab box on table and let everyone decorate their own hat with whatever they find inside. ....You need all kinds of little things to glue to hat.... glitter, crepe paper to hang like streamers, make bows, or flowers, old pack of cards, acrilyc paints for color... (or if you paint all hats white you could use crayons too) , ribbons, easter grass, feathers, whatever you can think of that is is light enough to attach to the hats. /// You can also use construction paper pieces. Small pieces work great and you could pre-cut them. Or tissue paper works great and has a paper mache stained glass look to it. Fake flower petals and leaves work good to. In additon, after the holdays you can buy all kinds of colorful things- even stickers- The craft stores will have big sales after the holiday. 5) SKATING RINK- Take the hats to the skating rink but check if you can skate with them on... or just use them for party hats when your food id served and you open your presents. Everyone can make a neck streamer that it waves behind them while they skat. I am sure the rink will know you are having the party and their DJ will have party songs for you and your skating friends (like hokey pokey etc) This hat making project is actually a very fun and easy project if you plan in advance. You should have prizes for best hat and funniest hat. 6) YOU, birthday girl, should cut out two large #number ones for your hat or better yet, a ten of hearts and an ace of hearts glued or stapled to the front of your hat. Have fun whatever you decide to do.
