I have SBC DSL on my XP Home version. Aparently the DSL does not work well with IE7. So I uninstalled ALL SBC applications, got rid of IE7, reinstalled IE6 and reinstalled and validated DSL/modem. When I used IE to make sure there was a connection; the IE browser window had to immediately close. (I can't get on my other computer.) The same thing happens when I try to log on through SBC. The yahoo browser must close. I can't get on long enough to fix the problem online. I have uninstalled and reinstalled SBC stuff for 6 hours and can't get it right. Help me PLEASE!

The problem you are experiencing has nothing to do with your DSL.

Unfortunatly it has everything to do with your computer. One thing you might try is a system restore back to the last time that it worked. This may work for you if the cause was installing IE7. Many people have had some major issues with IE7. If the problem was not caused by the installation of IE7 then you may have a virus that needs to be cleaned. You best bet, is start backing up your files and run a scan on your computer. If you have a serious enough virus infection the best fix would be to Wipe your hard drive clean and start all over again.

1)Try shutting down your modem and your computer for 5 minutes.
2) Then turn your modem back first, then your computer.
3) If that does'nt solve the problem, go to Systems Restore.
Click START
Click ALL PROGRAMS
Click ACCESSORIES
Click SYSTEM TOOLS
Click SYSTEM RESTORE
Go to the latest date on which you did not have the problem and restore the system to that date.

Good Luck.

well, if you want you can try Firefox without uninstalling Explorer and see how it goes. No need to lose your browser either.
You can get it from here, as well as Picasa both free to keep :)

These are tiny files and you can simply have them all installed at the same time

IE gets broken for several reasons. My suggestion is use something else. http://www.t3technet.com/ie.html
