I have a very hour-glass shaped body, but all the clothes (espically tops) i wear make me look fat. What are some clothes I can wear that will define my figure?

Avoid tops that are drapey and billowy, because unless a person is rail thin they add bulk to the waist area. It's not easy finding tops that are fitted, especially if you have a larger chest. The best piece of clothing I ever bought was a great fitting blazer...tailored at the waist and falls right above the hip.. it can be worn over ANY top and with jeans or any skirt or dress pants.
Clothes that are fitted in the waist will show that you have a small waist and make you look curvy, not "fat"
Avoid low rise jeans, as they accentuate the hips. Jeans that are midrise or "curvy" fit go up a bit higher so again they help show off your waist and not draw the attention to the hips.

You already have a beautifully defined figure. Love it and don't get sucked into the media hype that the 'stick look' is best. Be proud of your truly womanly shape; men love it, other women are envious of it. The 'sticks' are not at all feminine.
Dress the way you feel most comfortable, but always remember that most 'nice' men are attracted to well supported breasts..not necessarily well exposed breasts.
Belts will accentuate your gorgeously slim waist.
If you want to minimise your hips, wear black or other dark colours.

Just in case you're interested in flouting tradition; I spent years wearing dark pants & skirts, and white tops. Now, I've tossed out all my white & cream tops. I have a fab collection of colours. As for pants and skirts..black, brown, rust, purple, traditional linen, green, and blue jeans.
I love my new freedom, and receive plenty of compliments.

I have a bit of a scrawny hour-glass figure..weighing in at just over 50kg's, but with "a great rack for your frame" and well defined hips. It's taken me 30 years to come to terms with the shape of my body.

Hour-glass shaped figures look amazing in empire waist tops and dresses. They should stay away from skinny jeans and bubble skirts (which are unfortunately both very 'in' right now, and annoying all of the hour-glass shaped people out of their minds.)

There are many articles in magazines and such that will probably help you on this subject, I'm just too lazy to look it up. If you look at www.ivillage.com, they have a lot of info about that kind of stuff that might help you.

Good luck!
