My son and I went to see it last night. It was okay, seeing as we are able to see so few movies at the theater, but I wouldn't say it was all that good of a movie.

The trailer and everything made the movie look fantastic, but the movie is really not much like the book. It has the characters (some of which are played by actors not suited for the part) but the story behind it all isn't there. Not a good movie at all, if Christopher Paolini had some part in the production, it would have been much better. I'm actually curious about what he thinks about it.

The book was awesome. I read it when it first came out and it was nothing like the Rings even though it was pretty complex and well thought out. I was afraid to see the movie because Hollywood often makes a mess of great books. Thanks for the tip. But I would suggest reading the book if you get a chance.

I have, and it is cool!
I havn't read the book but I absoloutly loved the movie!
(Perhaps if you've read the book, and everything is changed it'd be a dissapointment there, but if you ignore that fact, it really is a good movie. - specially for fantasy/adventure lovers like me.)
When I saw there was a fantasy/adventure movie coming out I was like soooooo excited!
And yeah...saw it the first day it came out (14th here in Aus) and it met my expectations 100%!
Awesome stuff!
I just hope that people who read all these extreme negative reviews/comments by the "public pre-movie book readers" aren't turned away from seeing it.
Because as a movie, it IS good. (...as you know) ;p

i think that most of the people that say the movie suck just dont want to watch the movie because it looks stupid. and i kinda agree it looks alil stupid but in a way i kinda want to read the book then see the movie. and who knows maybe ill like the movie.

i read the book and saw the movie. and let me tell you the Movie, when compared to the book, really sucks. the movie does not follow the book at all and they missed alot of the major charectors the events.

THIS MOVIE SUCKED! IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK, IT WAS MEDIOCRE AT BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL THE GOOD PARTS WERE LEFT OUT JUST BECAUSE FRICKEN FOX SHOULDNT MAKE A FANTASY MOVIE! That's good. I read the books, and from revies, other people that read them were all "Oh it stunk! It's an insult! Blah Blah Blah!" but i think it looked fantastic.

Not yet, but I'm reading the book & it's terrific!!! I plan to finish it in the next few days & then go see the film....can't wait!!!
