no, up until last week, i believe he was listed as libertarian. therefore,flip/flop.

Assuming you mean he switched from youthful libertarian to adult Republican, this is not that unusual.

Will he appeal to the various factions in the Republican party? The South? The Midwest?

EDIT: Okay, I get the flip-flop. More info needed.

What on earth does "born libertarian" mean?

My father was a Republican. I eventually ended up one myself. But not because I was "born" that way.
