Should i tune it half step tune it down or full tune it down? I have 2 guitars so i was thinkin of makin one like a 6 string bass hehe.

Having never done this before, but being a guitar player myself, I would still imagine that this would be quite difficult, because as you know, bass strings are much thicker than your standard electric or acoustic strings.

But if you're set on doing it, I would say that you should tune it down a full octave. The top 4 strings on a guitar are equivalent to that of a bass, only higher, so that would be your best bet I'd imagine, if you're not planning on changing strings.

In any case, might be a good idea to invest in a bass and sell one of your guitars if you're really set on a six string bass, which I know you can buy. :)

you really have to just buy a bass. The wholebass tone is created by the big strings that you cant put on a guitar.

buy a bass......guitars sound horrible when u tuen them down that far...

even when guitars tune to drop d..it sounds horrible...and very overdone
