I am 37 weeks pregnant, I have been having complications, had to be on bed rest for the past 3 weeks, Today Sat. I am allowed to walk around and have the baby....I went to the E.R. Thr. bc I was bleeding, and doc says its "bloody Show"??? and I am 2 1/2 cm dialated.... This is my second child, I am having contractions, but dont feel them just feel the babies head down in my vaginal area......only pain when I walk or move my thighs??? I am scared that my baby will come before I have time to go to the E.R. bc I was only in labor for four hours with my first son......The pain I feel has gotten worse and worse the past two days and I dont feel the contractions until when I am sleeping then I wake up and feel like going in.... I know when my water breaks to go in or when the contractions are to intense, but I had to have my water broken last time and I was already dialated to 9 cm. I dont feel the contractions and hear with the second you normally dont feel them as intense..WHAT SHOULD I DO

I have three children and the intensity got worse with the second and then the third. All labors are different. It is possible that you won't feel much pain. I had very long intense labors. Too long if you ask me. :) But, I have a friend who was in labor for 7 hours with her first one and then when the second one came it was like on the movies. It just hit her like a huge brick. We rushed her to the hospital and she had her baby within an hour of the first sign of labor. If you are concerned (and it sounds like you are... as I would be) then I would go ahead and go to the Emergency Room. Better safe than sorry. Good luck to you, God bless and Congratulations! I'll be praying for a safe and healthy delivery!

You can feel your stomach getting hard when you have a contraction even if you don't feel any pain. If it is happening less then 5 minutes apart and isn't stopping when you lay down and relax or get up and walk chances are you are in labor and you need to go to the hospital. Even if you get there and they tell you it is false labor the worst thing that will happen is they will send you home, but you will have peace of mind. With my 4th baby that's what happened to me. I was in labor and didn't even know it. Baby was born 20 minutes after I got to the hospital. So, you should go!!! Good luck!

Call 911 or your local emergency response number if you are afraid that you are going to have your baby immedietely and won't make it to the ER. Otherwise, try to find someone who will be willing to drive you when the time comes. If you were only in labor for four hours with your last child, then odds are that your labor will be even quicker with this one. If you are having contractions, count them and see how far apart they are, then call your doctor or the local ER and ask them if you need to come in.
Don't worry about having your baby in the ER; that rarely happens. If your local hospital has a decent labor and delivery ward, then you will be sent directly there, usually without even an ER exam. Trust me; they don't want you to give birth in the ER any more than you do!
Hope this helps!

You cant judge this pregnancy with your last because each one can be different. With my first I had to have my water broken I was in labor for 5 hours and it wasn't really that painful. The second one the pain was excruciating and when I got to the hospital I was dilated to 5, I was in labor with him for 10 hours and the water broke on its own. Just go when you feel extreme pain coming and going 5 minutes apart and lots of pressure.

Go to the ER and if your not ready they will just send you home. You can never be too safe. You are suppose to write your contractions down, 10 or more in an hour then go to hospital.

If you have any unusual pain, go to the ER now. Have them check you and your baby's vitals and do an ultrasound to make sure everything is ok. Good luck and congrats!

If you go to ER, you will deliver there. Go through the ER enterance and go straight up to the maternity ward. If you have fast labours, I would go now. If the er staff ask you where you are going, tell them you want to have your baby in maternity and not in the er and you are going straight up there.

If the hospital sent you home I wouldnt worry, they should have your previous med records from your first birth if they were worried or thought you might be high risk they would have kept you. Contact your OBGYN express your concerns he/she will tell you what is best for you and your baby
