Republicans are not concerned enough with NOT dividing the country so it's happening due to it naturally happening over time without serious effort to prevent it. and I have to say I've seen hatred on both sides but it seems like more does come from the republican camp. It's something that all parties need to work on though. United We Stand Divided We Fall is the truth. And though to say it's a pain in the *** is a great understatement, it must be attempted earnestly on all sides for democracy to work at all. A good first step would be for people to put a little less venom into there questions and answers on here. And in fact I would say that anyone who trys to poison the political environment on purpose anywhere and in any form is hurting the nation and there own side just as badly as whom they aim there hate at.

if so... did you notice that Republicans also spew hatred and vitriol and ad homonym attacks? there were many on both sides in the last election in MANY, MANY states...
you said the "press" raves... so it sounds like you watch the news? odd?
or do you just ignore that?
maybe the news you watch doesn't show it?
if you haven't seen it on the news, you may want to get you're news somewhere else, because you appear very naive to what is going on poltiically...
but hey, you probably won't believe me... the Republicans are saints and can never do anything wrong...right?
but to answer your question... because of exactly what you said... he does what he wants and doesn't care about anyone else...
people remember things like that... let's see how effective he will be now that he can't just do whatever he wants...

The Democrats, Greens, Naders and others who care about their fellow man and want us all to make it, are carefully made to look ridiculous and extremely out of touch, so that these men can carry on with their dark plans. That is why it was essential for them to buy our Congress and the media. This is a very old strategy, used by the same Houses of Power throughout our history, and the NEOCONS are their voice.

The press and the dem socalists like to think the other side is trying to do all the things they hate but won't admit they do themselves. It's nice that the "tolerant" side wants to take away out right to free expression.
