well, that really depends on what kind of genre you enjoy, james patterson is good, nora roberts is popular, stephanie meyer wrote 2 of my favorite books, ohhh, try alexander dumas, the count of monte cristo is an amazing book, and any teacher would be overjoyed that your reading it.

I like the gossip girl series, which are like trashy teen novels

A Great and Terrible Beauty- I read this in 2 days. I couldn't put it down!
Eragon- great book, haven't seen the movie yet.
Eldest-also a great book. (sequel to Eragon)
Green Angel- weird but good
The Horse Whisperer- very good, the end is different from the movie.
Fever- great book
