The Premiership is the third or fourth best league in Europe after La Liga, Serie A and possibly the Bundesliga. Even League Une gives it a good run. Face it all you English people, the Premiership sucks and if you want me to explain why like I have did on numerous forums in the past, I will

1 the Premiership has had 3 CL finalist since the competition's inception in 1991/1992. The Premiership came into being in 1992/1993 so parallels run in terms of finalists for both competitions. Compare that to Spain and Italy
2 Liverpool are an awful team with no style who would struggle to break down the very best Italian defences and don't have the panache of the best Spanish teams. Arsenal area good team I oncede but aren't likely to win anything and without Henry and Fabregas they struggle. United are a shadow of their former selves and Chelsea are a strong team but still in Barcelona's shadow despite this year's section. And that is your nation's top echelon. The rest of the league is full of teams who would struggle not to be relegated in Spain. My point is that Milan, Inter and Roma, and Juve when they return are all better than most English teams (Milan and Inter better than all bar possibly Chelsea). Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia are all better than every English team

and I would venture that Lyon and possibly Bayern Munich are also. Lyon are **** hot, probably the most free flowing entertaining footballing side in Europe right now.
3 Spanish and Italian sides just have that "clinical instinct" that your sides lack. Liverpool,s defeat of Milan was a fluke and owed more to Milan's complacency than anything else. And Man Utd were so so lucky in 1999.
Basically, as with your national team, you always fall short. Chelsea won't win the Champions League this season, and neither will any other English club

The football is all blood and thunder also with very little in the way of ability in comparison to Spain and Italy. people say Spanish defences are weak BUT they think that because Spanish sides are so superior to English sides in an attacking sense that the defences there have a harder job. English sides rarely keep a clean sheet agaisnt La Liga clubs in Europe and that is due to going up agasint superior attacks to waht they have grow accustomed to in England. The Premiership level of defending is very poor, and the attack is good but still not amazing. Basically, La Liga is better in attack AND defence hence why we hear how great Barcelona are in attack, and why the defences in Spain are poor. That's because of how good the attacks are. And in italy everyone knows Catennaccio still rules, so they have better defences than England.
The best players always play the prime of their careers in Spain or Italy (Zidane, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo). Gerrard and Lampard are both very overrate

Thanks Gerbil, and sorry m8
To the other guy, I disagree, I 6think the lower teams in England are very poor and Spanish sides would easily take care of their English equivalent placings. At one point in La Liga a few years ago, Spain had 8 teams still in contention for the title. don't underestimate the likes of sevilla etc

Come on Kevin, a grand total of 4 teams have won the Premiership since it started in 1992/1993. Chelsea are clearly the best team although United and Arsenal are good sides. You all laugh at the SPL for being a one horse race, but you aren't much better. And Werder Bremen and Schalke will always push Bayern Munich so it is arguably a more competitive title race than the Premiership. No disrespect intended but you maybe aren't as informed as I on foreign football if you don't see that

Wolly and Maradona JR (best player ever IMO), when Juve come back then Seroe A will be stronger. Imagine if Premiership had Chelsea or United relegated, or La Liga Barca or Real Madrid, then those leagues would be severely fucke d also, but when juve come back up all will be right

So let me get this straight, I put forward a tidy argument, some of you idiots talk absolute crap you can't back uo ie Robinho, Joaquin etc being losers ot whatever lol. And that is the same guy who told me I know nothing about football haha? He also said Ibrahimovic is class, what a ******* liberty and joke. I know more about football than you idiots slating me combined. And isn;t it great where you use the evidence of one petty season which is only HALFWAY through. yes you have now more but what about the past 10 years? or 20 for that matter, even excluding the ban from europe post Heysel, what about those, don't we take those into account? wait till i show some MSN contatcs your comments, we will havea ******* field day laughing at you. And to the guy who said France doesn't draw much of a crowd, how does that make it less entertainging than England? that is because of a lack of advertising and repuatation. Premiership is mainstream, that doesn't equate to the best,

A very well put argument. I agree to a large extent, not with everything you say, but I certainly agree with the core point, that the Premiership is overrated.
However, less of the " 'ALL' you English people", please. We English do have minds of our own, thank you.

If the Premiership is overrated then why do we still have 7 teams in European cups. 4 of which in the champions League which is 1 more than Spain, 1 more than Italy, 2 more than France and 3 more than Germany. The Italian league as we all know is full of corruption, if the teams are that good why would they need to fix matches, the German league is predictable, The french league hardly draws much of an audience, ill admit La Liga is pretty good but its not played by men because they can't handle a tackle, The Premiership is a mans league full of Power, Passion, proper tackling and Superb Goals. It all depends what you enjoy to watch and what your definition of the word "best" is, i respect your opinion though.

It all depends on what you consider the word best to represent ???
I consider the Premiership to be far and away the league with the best quality players . We have more international players than any other league and also more World Cup team representatives also .
One of the resons why our teams rarely win the European tournaments is exactly what makes it the better league . It is by far the most gruelling schedule of any league , the more physically demanding , week in week out .
I have had this conversation across the world many times and I truly beleive that even if your Barcelona's and your AC Milan's and your Real Madrid's win the European tournaments , that is not what determines a strong league . Look at the teams lower down in those divisions . Those teams give you a clue as to how tough that league is because it defines the nature of the schedule . I guarantee that if you took the middle 5 teams in all leagues and put them in a head to head competition , the Premier league teams would win 90% of those games.
No contest in my world.......Premiership by a country mile

I didn't read everything that you wrote, but they have 4 teams in CL and 3 teams in UEFA Cup, and all of them were on top of their group, I think that English players are highly overrated, but in their best clubs is not a lot of English players and after relegation of Juventus, EPL is on second place, right after La Liga!!!
Yes, but I don't think that Juve will be back on the top that soon, they sold a lot of their players and except of the Bojinov all of the players are old already and Milan will probably lost Kaka at the end of the season and I don't think that Oliveira will be as good as he was before the injury, Inter is strong now because on the beginning of the season Stankovic saved their a s s with goals and assists, Serie A is in big problems and they won't be able to be among the best that soon!!!!! Even last season Juve and Milan were lucky to pass Werder and Lyon, and they had all their players, so maybe Serie A is more overrated than EPL!!!!! EPL didn't have good attackers before but now almost every club have great striker ( Berbatov, Anelka, McCarthy, Martins, .....)!!!!!

Its the most entertaining league. Better teams in it than bundesliga, thats not even up for debate. The big teams are currently better than the serie A big teams. Serie A is going nowhere fast. Only La Liga is better on the whole.
Now you explain why it sucks...

u cannot seriously tell me that the italian league is better at the moment...i agree with u about lyon, the only thing that could possibly go against that argument is the fact that the rest of the sides in the french league are less than average...as for the spanish league, i think even jose mourinho was right when he spoke about gudjohnsen becoming a diver...it all comes down to which football u prefer to see, as ive grown up in england i can relate to our teams better...for example, i watch every prem game that is live on the telly, but i pick & choose my spanish games...as for the italian league, i think ive watched 2 matches this season & i certainly wouldnt go to pay per view on setanta for the french & german leagues although i have pay per view season ticket for english prem...its all about opinions

overrated? WTF. u obviously dun know a thing about football.
i c ure scottish huh. heres a little fact for u. bring "celtic" or the "rangers" into the premiership n watch those moron get relegated
the premiership is physical and and full of excitement n skill. la liga is full of morons like messi, joaquin, vicente, n robinho who jus run run run run run. only good thing is that its fast paced. n the italian league........... all they do is fight for the ball like morons. it wouldnt be anything without kaka, ibrahimovic n adriano. n no other league is even worthy to be in the same sentence with the premiership.

sounds like anybody is letting thier person bias cloud their judgement. As a Chelsea fan i became dissapointed with Malouda, till the previous few video games he hasn't regarded too smart. i do in comparison to Ronaldo yet he did score forty two final season so it won't be able to be him. i'm going for Nani, guy Utd followers rave approximately him yet different than for a pair of respectable strikes final season he has been poor. i don't think of i've got seen him finished one million bypass this season yet. Fletcher is a respectable squad participant

you are comparing it to different teams i thought u meant the league overall. well the league is good because it is competitive unlike the bundesliga where u already know whos the champ. anyays if u think la liga or serie a is better its just ur opinion. also the premeirship has a good mix of players around the world.
