My guess is 12,000. I don't think we've seen anything yet. This mess is far from over. I think it's just getting started. 20,000 if we decide to mix-it-up with Iran too.

I think you are about right. And imagine what will happen to the Iraqis who now have lost over 600,000! Their dead will be way over 1 million if this keeps up. Isn't that genocide by anyones definition.

I believe we will never be out of Iraq; just like Korea we've been there a half-century. Get wise, the oligarchy rules in this world, and they all have their bank accounts tied to the war-mongering military industrial complex. Just like in Viet-Nam, the so-called leaders in the south all had their Swiss bank accounts and got rich off the backs of the American people. Geo W Bush will destroy the world, and he's made a good start in Iraq.

You are safer as a soldier in Iraq than you are on the streets of DC.

How many soldiers died in WWII? If this question was asked during that war, would we have left prematurely? Would we have run out of there with our tails between our legs, only to be speaking GERMAN a decade later?

Take your head out and think about the consequences of what you are advocating! I am glad there weren't more like you in 1930s and 1940s.
