You can vary the quality of the songs and have more. More quality takes more space. Also some formats are more efficient than others and lastly depends on songs saved.

hey luke
i have a 2 gb nano and i have over 300 song on it know and it not even half way full but i have a problem i down loaded a music video off of i -tunes today the nano wouldnt take it any suggestion could you e- mail me if you have any ideal why i cant down load it on my nano on music video

Not all songs take the same number of bytes, some songs are longer and require more bytes.

it prob. depends on the size of the songs that were on there. Like longer songs take up more space because they require more memory

i think it goes by time length, if his songs are shorter than his will hold more. if you have longer songs urs will hold less. see what im saying? because i kind of confused myself there.

do you use MP3's or WMAs. wma files are compressed alot more than MP3s
