I am a mom and currently have CyberSentinel, but the way it works is very primitive (it blocks text, and blocks pages with words it doesn't like). However, it causes Firefox to crash. I want to use Firefox because of its safety, so I need a new parental control software. I really mostly want to block accidental clicking on gross websites, and I don't need a ton of monitoring, just filtering. What is a good, trustable program I can use?

There's one built into ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite, which also protects your PC with a FIREWALL, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Spam + a few other useful tools.

"Cut 'em off at the pass."

Make yourself administrator. Do not allow changes without your permission.

I think Norton Antivirus or Norton Internet Security has parental control.

In Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options. Check out the Security, Privacy, and Content tabs. Set Security to high.

Under Content, click "Enable." Set what you will or will not allow, then control it with a password.

This is one of those things that no software can substitute for parental supervison. If you are concerned about images adult content (images) appearing when clicking on a link, then you could disable images from being displayed. If you are using firefox, then you can easily do this. I have provided you a link on how to configure your settings on firefox.

I do not support the use of parental software such as spy nanny or cyber watch etc.. as this shows your children that you do not trust them to be somewhat independent. Instead, I like to teach my children how to use the internet safely.

Good luck

Cheers!

Scanning for viruses and undercover agent ware is continuously a sturdy idea. in spite of the undeniable fact that, one extremely basic element will supply up your popups continuously. merely stop making use of internet Explorer and use Firefox or Opera on your browser. both classes enable you to configure them to disclaim ALL popups, era. you may also configure Firefox to flush all of your cookies and own archives each and every time you signal off. VERY reachable and extremely safeguard! Microsoft actual bought ad area on IE for firms to apply for popup classified ads, all the at the same time as claiming to have between the perfect popups blockers obtainable. What a lie! They block popups allright, till you pay vast funds for ad area. The undesirable consumer will then be suffering from technique of them. Google Firefox and get your self a familiar browser and ignore you ever heard of internet Explorer.
