Man.....what can I say?....lots of you guys were right...it was one he** of a ride!.....I didn't use or do anything but isolate myself, put the dvd in...and set back....I cried, because it IS a man trapped inside himself...like alot of people are...the parts about war intrigued me, too...my husband was in deployment overseas about a year ago, and things he told me that he had saw or knew showed up in the movie...yes, this movie is a "trip" in itself....I never took my eyes off the screen, except to pause and dry my eyes..I just loved the music from the Wall album....this dvd will never leave my sight...never ...and it may never leave my dvd player, either....!! I am keeping this post open to hear what others have to say....thanks guys....!!

nope! not really any hidden messages (i am one of the biggest floyd fans and watched the movie today actually) just sit back, relax, and watch
although some things will appear to you different than what the writer actually MEANT for it to mean, but thats what music is all about, different interpretations

Wow, one of my all time favorite movies. When I was younger, I would kill a whole day by drinking a fifth of cheap vodka, and watching this movie over and over again. I don't drink anymore, but still enjoy the movie very much.I have to say though, when my wife first showed me the movie, I didn't "get it". I had to sit and watch it closely before I liked it. My only advice is: unplug your telephone and eliminate all outside distractions, then lose yourself in the movie. It's a heck of a ride. Also, don't bring the vodka. The movie is just as good without it,and you'll feel better in the morning without it. ( I think that's why the Russians used to be so nasty, those vodka hangovers are killers:) ). Enjoy!

there are a lot of war metaphors. but i wouldn't really say hidden meanings. like the music, it's kind of open for interpretation though. just enjoy the movie and the music since it's your first time watching. make your own judgments. i have the wall, and i've watched it at least 40 times. if you like it, you'll watch it again too, then you can analyze it more. or look deeper in to it. enjoy. i think i'll watch it tonight too.

After you've watched this movie over 50 times (seriously) like I have, you will STILL be decyphering all the hidden meanings and great metaphors between WWII and rock n roll.... I still see things for the first time when I watch this movie :-)

The movie is just a lengthy video version of the album from the days before they had video. The album is pretty much Roger Water's attack on the British educational system and the concept of the unemotional Brit.

It's full of Freudian archetypes. Sigmund Freud was obsessed with the psychological problems caused by sexual repression. If you over-analyze any story, you miss the bigger meaning of it, but the main theme seems to be repression of the human spirit by the larger society.

its a "man verses himself" movie...he didn't "know" his father, yet became the opposite of what he (father) was fighting.a man trapped inside his own thoughts.controlled by his sanity which to others was insane.the all time best movie/music of all time...my analogy is off, sure, but that's what I got from it...it's a deep movie of a battle between him and himself....all in all I'm just another brick in the wall
