Although she has been tossed around, people might be tired of a possible "Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton" cycle. There's an entire generation (myself included) who only knows about this cycle.
Barack Obama in a recent interview/article with Newsweek or Msnbc.com was noted that despite his lack of experience, people are rallying to him because he represents something different, which is what the country may be looking for.
That said, I'm not sure whether this country is ready for either a female president or a mixed race one.

I wish that would happen, but I don't think it will. My reason is that she seems so threatening to so many men...and I mean nice men, generally rational men, not crazy reactionary types. I know several such men who loathe and resent her and have ranted and raved about her at my dinner table more angrily than they rant and rave about people who really have hurt them personally. I don't fully understand why, but she pushes all those male mad-buttons!
I have all the respect in the world for her, but I hope she doesn't run, because we need a Democrat to win and I doubt that she can.

No, her family has too many skeletons in the closet that without a doubt will be uncovered through the close look in faults throughout other candidate's campaigns
