I have a Azus socket A7v motherboard with the most current bios. I have installed a 3rd Harddrive, a 300 gb WD. The bios recognizes it as a 300gb, but my Windows XP only sees it as 137 gb. What are steps to get XP to recognize the entire drive? I have not formatted it yet.

You need a 48-bit LNB compatible motherboard for large hard drive.

Normally, Windows XP with Service Pack 2 will recognize the full capacity of the drive. XP with SP1 or no service pack will not be able to.

Either way, download WD Lifeguard tools for you specific drive [http://support.wdc.com/download/index.asp?swid=1]
then follow the directions on this page [http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1086&p_created=1065035222&p_sid=MylXZjpi&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MjkwJnBfcHJvZHM9JnBfY2F0cz0mcF9wdj0mcF9jdj0mcF9zZWFyY2hfdHlwZT1zZWFyY2hfZm5sJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9MTM3IGdi&p_li=&p_topview=1]
