Who gets annoyed when someone asks a question about a character and a girl just replies with what is basically a love declaration to a fictional character? Not to mention the lame comments they give when one says they don't like their oh so precious favourite character.

I don't like when they answer questions just to say that they love some character and they don't actually answer the question. Other then that, if they want to fancy someone that doesn't exist, then it's their problem.

I feel a little sorry for them. Basically, it’s not unusual for a young inexperienced person to have a crush on a fictional character. I did myself, once. I agree that it is not very productive to argue and defend the honor or reputation of a fictional character.
Sometimes these girls are very lonely, and looking for an escape from their lives which seem boring to them. Sometimes they think no one (no boy, that is) likes them, and they seem to attract into groups, or they may fixate on a marginally prettier or more socially skilled girl, hoping her ‘luck’ will rub off on them.
There do not seem to be very many people on here who are serious about anime history, or job opportunities in the anime market, or are skilled enough as artists to be able to intelligently discuss the art styles, or compare different animes other than on the basis of the fact that they like one and dislike another.
There’s no point in getting angry at these girls. They are young, most of them. As they develop more friendships (especially with boys) they will probably find that anime is less important to them. That is a part of real life. So, just be patient and gentle toward them.

Oops I guess it sounds pretty lame when you say it..I am kinda in love with Kyo in the manga and anime fruits basket...I guess its because hes so sweet and cute and sounds like the perfect guy....most girls feel that way when we see an anime or read a manga that has a cute guy with a cool back story....but then we get back to reality and realise they're just drawings and then it looks really fu cked up...I guess I should stop....lol..peace~

I've never met someone like that but they sound very naive/young. I guess it no different than millions of girls who are "in love" with some guy in a band or movie star. They don't know them either, only the idea of them or a character they play.

i dont now really maby its becase there is no cute and dreamy guys like that in the rale world that thy cand find. but i get like that over genma off of naruto and riku off of kingdom hearts. it is just something you have to go threw to under stand there realy is no answer to why thay are like thay are. just something whith anime guyes that gets grils like that but it realy is anowing wants you thinnk about it thay can sute up we now thay like them alredy it is cind of stuped to just answer you ? just to shay thay like them!
