Question about the Kurds..?

How long have the Kurds been in the area of Northern Iraq and are they indigenous to that region or did the migrate into Northern Iraq over the previous decades, centuries, etc.???

the Kurds are Indo-Aryans and have lived in Northern Iran, Southern Turkey and northern Syria & Iraq for centuries. when they arrived is not precisely known but they are ancient in that region.

More Kurds live in Iran than in Iraq.
