We call these "fear poops". Yes, it is a sign of her being nervous. You'll have to put up with the poops for awhile as she learns to trust you and her new surroundings. The pooping/peeing should start to diminish as you handle her more.

It's called "fear poop" the pet store you got her from probably never socialized with her. i had 3 female rats and they all started out like that for the first few days it stops eventually. It's just her getting used to her surroundings. Just be gentle and let her come to you when you put your hand in her cage. Offer her a treat or a welcome greeting to let her know your coming and get used to you as her new companion. Also female rats are the more adventurous ones so don't expect tooo much holding and cuddle time but play time will be fun and very active!

Good luck!
with a little patience they are very sweet animals

Yep, I agree with spazrats. It is just a sign of nervousness and stress. By gentle and it will come around in no time. : )

Its normal for new rats to poop on you at the beginning, they are getting used to their surroundings. If its normal solid poop, then its not fear poop. Fear poops are very soft and are very smelly.
