Yes,
After the war, they moved to America and performed. During the filming of the movie "The Sound Of Music", Maria was present and is actually in the film as a bit part extra. The real Maria Von Trapp briefly appears crossing behind a row of columns during "I Have Confidence".

There was a documentary done about "The Sound of Music" and in that documentary they interviewed the REAL Von Trapp kids. Some of them were on the set of the movie when it was being made. I can't remember if it was the History channel or Biography channel that did it. Maybe it was WNIT or one of the public broadcasting stations. I have seen it twice. I don't know if any of the original kids are still alive or not but I think their descendants are.

Yes the Von Trapp family is real. Their house is now being used as a museum. I know that ELISA the oldest is still alive.

Yeah there was. The youngest girl is still alive I believe. I saw part of a documentary on the Sound of Music and she even appears as an extra (just as one of the people walking by though). Or maybe that was the real Maria...

Yes, and some of the information in the movie was true to the real story. I believe some of the kids died while traversing the mountains though. That's the sad ending that they didn't include.

Yes. They escaped Austria as depicted in the Sound of Music. Their grandchildren have a singing/tour group (see link)

Yes, they were a real family. I know one of the children, a boy I think, lives in Australia. I saw a documentary on this some years ago. My memory is sketchy.
