i know that santa and the elfs are not real but i always wondered if raindeer are real animals and i know if i look it up something about santa clause will come out.

yes! they're also called caribou ^-^ they live in alaska and other northern places (hence the north pole and such)
and they can't fly, or at least...not that we know of. haha.

Yes, reindeer are real animals. Santa is a real person... the elves aren't real.
Santa is really Saint Nicholas. He lived a long time ago in Western Europe and Santa can be translated in German, Spanish, and many other languages as "Saint". However, Saint Nicholas or "Santa Clause" Does not have anything to do with the Christmas tradition. In fact there is a whole nother holiday celebrated on the 6th of December in the Catholic religion. This holiday is "Saint Nick's Day". In tradition, the children will set out a shoe the night before as Saint Nick comes by and fills the shoes with goodies.
Reindeer are real animals, they live up north in Canada and Alaska regions. They roam in herds and do look like the typical reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh. However, the actual animal does not fly at all. Reindeer are mammals, and can be found in even some of your local zoos.

Yes, this is a reindeer (see link below). They tend to live in cooler climates, but can also be seen in some animal parks and you can even stroke and feed them. They are very real.

Reindeer are real and are native to the northern regions of Scandanavia. They cannot fly though. They had a couple on display at the state fair a few months ago and it was cool to see them in person.
