sleeping on your back during the 2nd half of your pregnancy puts the full weight of your uterus on your spine, back muscles, intestines, and the inferior vena cava (the vein that transports blood from your lower body to the heart). ...this could cause a decreased blood flow to the baby, so it is not recommended.
they say sleeping on your left side is the best because it improves the flow of blood and nutrients to the placenta and it helps your kidneys efficiently eliminate waste products and fluids from your body...this will help reduce swelling in your ankles, feet, and hands.

It is not recommended when you progress further into the pregnancy to lay on your back, as the pressure of the baby lays on a major blood vessel, causing a reduced blood flow, and yes, leading to problems with the baby including potential brain damage. It is recommended you sleep on your slide.
Just one of the many sacrifices you need to make while pregnant, but trust me, it is more than worth it.

I believe that it is not recommended by doctors to lie on your back during the last few months of pregnancy, as this reduces the blood supply. I'm not sure if it causes brain problems, but I would recommend you don't do it. I believe pregnant woman are helping the baby most by lying on their sides.

No, the only thing that can cause damage to your baby is jolting your body, such as hitting a large pot hole when in a car, a big fall, and things of that nature. Try to stay steady in all your movements while you are pregnant, and also this applies to the baby after he is born-for about the first two years. Never bounce or shake a child is the rule to follow. ....KECK
