As a teacher I have to point out, as others have, that this is a generalization if ever there was one. However, I have also seen the hard work most of my Asian students have put forth in their studies. This doesn't mean they're smarter than their peers, but it DOES mean they're better students in that they study and try their hardest on assignments. Through talking to some of my Asian students in the past, they are fully aware that their language barrier means they MUST work harder in order to make it in an English-speaking classroom. Their families don't speak English at home, which makes it that much harder to acquire the language at school. Their families do, however, trust their children's teachers to provide an education and therefore expect their children to do well in school. This expectation from home definitely helps. It does with any child. It's my opinion through personal observation in the classroom that a family's expectations for success and acquiring knowledge are key ingredients for educational success. The kids whose parents don't give a crap consistently perform at a lower level than their peers. I don't think your assumption in your question is racist. I think it's culturally biased. I also think it's true to a large extent. :)

It's the pressure from the parents to do well because of their race. In America, if there was a white person, a black person, and an Asian person w/ the same IQ and each a similar resume, most companies would take the white person first, and then the black person, and then the Asian person. I'm not trying to be racist here, but that is real life. And it's even harder when you have older siblings more intelligent and you end up being the last child because the parents expect the most out of their littlest child. And this is my current situation.

not all Asian children are good students but why you see a lot of top notch Asian students is probably because of the high value of education in Asian cultures. Asian parents can also be strict and children well-disciplined (at least in my case!)

The Asian students who excell , do so for the same reason that all students who excell do. Parental guidance and encouragement, respect for their teachers and schools, having a plan for their future. Its not all Asian students, that is a stereotype, there are excellent White, Black, Hispanic , Indian, and Oriental students.

I think that is a bit of a gross generalization, but Asian parents and teachers are often more strict about education.

umm that is a bit of a sterotype. my friend is asian and he could care less about school. but because of asian culture more asian parents are stricter than others about school and have higher standards.

That is a common misconception and stereotype.Yes, there are many Asians who are smart, but there are also many Asians who are not so smart.

Not all Asian.
Some also were having lost sense of direction in making a monket out of themselves in planet of apes.
Some were blind blindly mastering our creator's universal gifts of life with skills.
With time they became successful in what they do for the good of mankind in planet of apes.
Some blindly mastered ghost stories from the graveyards with plenty of skills.
What they mastered end up dead like the dead too with their skills.
When they hit the job streets.
The dead could not help them.
Since the dead was dead and buried was long gone with time from planet of apes.
What's left was skeletons of skull and bones with skills that could not function in creating living things for the good of mankind in planet of apes.
Observe how living human kind communicating with the dead in ghostly kitchen's dialect from the graveyards in planet of apes.
How the communication read among the dead "It does not compute" when the dead was dead in planet of apes.
Observe how they look at loss and blurr on what living human kind is communicating with them in planet of apes.
When we keep pressing for answers.
They bad -mouth about you.
With time they come after you with a clubs on their shoulders in planet of apes.
That's the time will see The Mummy risen from the graveyards
with two hands stretching out scaring the hell and living daylights out of living human kind in planet of apes.
The blunders and slip-ups with human errors with skeletons of skull and bones with skills leading and guiding the survival of living human kind in planet of apes.
Observe those who blindly mastered the ghost stories all got themselves at loss and left behind with time stomping their feets at the grave yards in planet of apes.
Wonder who is making a monkey out of their own children in planet of apes.
When we try to raise the issues.
They say it's sensitive issue.
While they were screwing up human lives of all children of all tribes of different community in planet of apes.
Should have listen to this lyrics "It's up to you" living in misery in planet of apes.
