If personal income taxes are cut as a result isn't this what Republicans want?
That is the choice in HOW to spend their money? Costs will be higher but income taxes will be lower...

Companies always try to maximize profits every way they can and charge as much as they can while still maintaining sales, that's just capitalism. So not letting them sneak out of paying there taxes and not purchasing things from companies that try to pass the cost of that to the consumer would keep prices low and help make companies live up to there responsibility to society by taking up there portion of the tax burden, I'd say.

Never-the-less, due to conservatives' giving excessive tax breaks to big business, it should at least be raised to the original taxation that was in place. The tax breaks were given on the idea that the consumer would reap the benefits...and yet prices are STILL going up. I don't believe that we are feeling any benefits from their tax breaks...trickle down economics didn't work for Reagan, and it's not working for Bush.

Finally someone who can think! Yes you are correct if you tax big business then they lose profit. If profit is lost they have several choices. Raise prices or lay offs for starters both hurt the consumer and "average Joe" This why tax breaks a better for all. what happens to tax dollars you say? I know you think we all get to keep it! Wrong those tax dollars got to Welfare programs and and Government decided programs NOT you and me! The answer is tax breaks fro big business! If they thrive they don't raise prices they build more business and hire more people its a win/win for all!

The problem is that they hardly pay any tax now. http://robertdfeinman.com/society/corporate_taxes.html
Most corporations pay little or no tax, after their lawyers and Bushonomics is done eliminating their tax liability. The result is that we pay more, while their profits go untaxed. Sounds fair doesn't it? And, they will say if you make me pay more, I will go overseas to say Vietnam, and that will hurt even more. It is time we put a stop to this practice of making us wage slaves and corporations skimming off all the cream. Tired of fat free milk?

The Bush tax cuts should be made permanent... It's been shown time and again that LOWER taxes stimulate the economy, produce more jobs, which brings in more tax revenues. Raise taxes on the "big" business, and it will shrink to "little" business in a hurry!

Also less money for investment which means less tax dollars. Lliberalas don't understand that it isn't the rate of tax but the volume of tax. Lower tax rates equal more tax money in the treasury

I understand economics and taxes and that is why I am a Republican in college. Usually you have to get a good job and pay taxes but I am a quick study.

Good point. But your point would be even better if you didn't use the adjective "big." It doesn't matter how "big" a business is, they will still pass the cost of taxes on their customers.

Right you are.
Lots of people hate 'big-oil' for record profits, and want to beat them to death. I come back with: I made record profits last year, and so did you; I'm amazed that we still have reasonably priced gas w/o building refineries in recent years (due to irrational public hatred of heavy industry); and if you don't like their profits, don't buy their product.
That last one pisses them off, they say: Gas is a necessity. I say, get off your butt and bike; take the keys from your kids - they could ride the school bus...
I'm all for big biz, big profits, big oil, big luxury - all things that are the product of the American way of life.
