Using motorola v3m cellphone to access internet?

Question

I have a motorola v3m razer. i want to use it to connect to the internet with my laptop. i know i will need software and i already have the cable.
I would like to know what kind of bandwidth i can get my using my phone to dial the internet. I know it wont be very fast, but i'd like it to befaster than using a regular dial up modem. Also, does the connection speed differ with signal strength?

I know wi fi would be faster, i'm talking about when there is no wireless internet

it should go slower because it has to go to the compter to the internet. try using wireless
