There's plenty of money to be made in the corporate paper-shredding industry. Hire yourself out to embassies right before they get taken over --- you can charge them a premium price. Sounds like a great hobby with lots of earning potential.
A properly shredded top-secret document, such as the ones the New York times hands over to our enemies, would make a great art museum display if shredded properly. If you can shred telephone books with your bare hands in one move, I'll vote for you for governor to replace Arnie when his term ends.

Try making your compulsion into an art form. Get some different textured/colored papers, glue, and other "findings" and create collages. It will help you vent steam and foster your creative urges.
