How long does one have to wait after having inguinal hernia surgery before going back to work?

Atleast 10 days. And also the thing is, you can't lift anything
for quit a while. The Doctor is tell you how long.

I had the same surgery on Aug 15th of this year.That was a thursday.I was back to work the following tuesday(light duty).Two weeks later I was back to normal duty.I work on a sod farm so normal duty is pretty physical stuff.I am middle aged (42) and in good shape.It varies from person to person.Depends on your physical shape and your weight.Also did you only have one side done or two?I had one.If you had both sides done then your recovery time will be considerably longer.GOOD LUCK

I got mine on a Friday so I could return to work on Monday. A lot depends on the type of work you do.
