How do you rip a DVD through the command prompt?

Sorry, not sure about that .... I use software ....

Clone DVD and Any DVD, both available at:
http://www.slysoft.com/en/clonedvd.html

Any DVD removes copy protection and Clone DVD copies the DVD, and also sets up a "virtual DVD drive" for playing them from.

DVDs are usually regionally encrypted, so its usually easier to use a shim program around Jon Johansen's DeCSS program that strips the regional encryption.

I use a free software tool called dvd::rip, but it only works under Linux as for as I know.
