I have a 220 volt line and would like to make an outdoor outlet on the opposite/outside wall. I can run the wiring through the wall but would like to also have 110 volt supply for lighting and 220 volt for heating. Do I just need a fuse box and outlets?

the safest way is to stick with your 220 line for heating, you can run that strait to your heater, run it off proper size breaker, so if there is a problem arises with the heater the breaker will kick.
and i would run a seperate line 12-2 with ground for your lights,
you can buy outside weather proof outlets to plug your lights into
or run it strait to the lights, also buy proper size breakers for your breaker box. if you do not know what you are doing please get someone who does. electric is very dangerous and can cause death.

A 220 volt electrical wire is much bigger than a 110 volt wire and it can be done by stepping down the transformer, but I am not sure the electrical code says you can do that. You should use the 110 volt electrical proper wire for outside light setting which may be fed from the same electrical panel. However, I highly recommend that you hire an electrician, because by electrical code or law only an electrician should work on through any electrical box due to very high voltage and amperes could seriously shock and kill you if not careful. The code also states that wires going to and from electrical box must follow codes too for safety reasons, otherwise if you die or house burns down by your do it your self electrical stuff your insurance will not cover it or you. Please consult an electrcian for your safety.

some of you people and your answers.....you dont need to step down any transformers. the 220 is just 2 110 ran together with a commom and ground. you cant legally turn your 220 into 1 110 outlet due to breaker. like the other guy said...run a new circuit using 12-2 with a 20amp breaker. and that will allow you to use up 2200 watts of lighting. 30 amp breaker requires 10 gauge wire, 40 amp requires 8 gauge wire, 50amp requires 6 gauge wire, etc.

Don't pay any attention to the (man). You need to contact an electrition. It can be done but it needs to done safely. I am sure you don't want to burn down your house, or yourself. Err on the safe side.
