I find it hard. I attend church weekly and support my church in prayer. I enjoy fellowship with other believers as we encourage and edify one another. However, I do not identify my faith with that church - as many christians tend to associate their faith with how much they serve within that church. Weeky service is a time to re-energize and renew my spirit. And by setting this block of time aside I am consciously making an effort to enter into a more intimate relationship with our Lord as He refreshes and nourishes my spirit.
It is good to have a church family for support and friendship. We should recognize that each one of us is designed to serve in a different capacity within that church family. I am designed for outreach outside of the church walls. I am not part of the "group" but I am part of the family.
Our work, professions, careers are our ministry. We are to minister constantly and occassionally use words...meaning others should see Jesus reflected in our daily life. The church is our support group which supports us in our ministry. Some, most churches have strayed away from there initial intentions and purpose and have turned a time of worship into a circus. The strong in faith are needed to act as role models for those lost within these churches. Those with strong faith are the prayer wariors who will lift any unpleasant details to our Lord so all that is hidden by man will come to light for His correction. So even though I find it hard to belong to a church, I will continue attending weekly to minister to others, lift the details in prayer and nourish my spirit.

Some how it seems to be the ones with the real deal that can't bring themselves to stay in any church too long. I have undeniable faith and walk in the constant awareness of God yet as soon as I walk into a service I battle to Keep Love thoughts abounding and I feel soooo confined.

For many many people , in today`s world God cannot be confined to a small church hall. They see God everywhere and anytime. For them an imposed routine, in an imposing hall of a church, with a strict religious ritual is stifling.
That is why we see churches empty and spiritual meetings overflowing . The concept of Living God is more acceptable to them than the idea of a god waiting somewhere in the heaven.

I quit going because of the capitalistic attitude of this one particular church. Only to find out Smaller churches have the exact same view. And start-ups claim they don't, but they are exactly the same.
Now my belief and faith in GOD and Jesus can be considered to be strong in my opinion, but that is my opinion, not GOD'S or Jesus.

It is difficult for me to belong to a church, because my faith is strong, that is to say if you mean a physical church and not the spiritual church called the bride of Christ. Unfortunately, people tend to be human, so church is filled with hypocrites and liars.

If one belongs to (true)Jesus Christ he/she belong to the only church that matters. As for congregational gatherings, although it is the will of god for christians to gather(Heb 10:25)I personally do not because of my differences with congregational and denominational interpretations of scripture; differences which has gone on for generations and I do not think that I will be the one to put an end to it in this world.

I suppose one would have to examine why they go to church in the first place.
I go to church for many reasons:
1-To be with other people who WANT to worship God
2-To hear messages and songs that will encourage and strengthen my faith
3-To serve others as a part of my service to God
4-To help other people grow close to God.
I have struggled at times to be faithful in attending church, but I can tell you honestly that the toughest times in my life have been when i was not faithful in attending church. For me at least, going to church improves the quality of my life.

,Church or belonging to a church is a social event. If you are not in the mood for a social event, then church may be the wrong place for you to contemplate your faith. I feel this way.
I have always thought of myself as a people person, but I feel a lot better when I spend time with myself. And for issues of faith, the general interruption of the Christan Bible in today's church is not conducive of helping one come to some sense of belonging.
Face it, the Bible says one thing, and these christian fundamentalist say another. For example, Jesus steps in a saves a woman who is about to be stone by shielding her from the pack of men and boys who are about to shower her with rocks.
Jesus says, "Let he who has no sin, cast the first rock." It sounds clearly to me like he is saying, "Thou shalt not kill! or thou has no right to judge another person" Not, Thou shall not kill this time, but he doesn't qualify it. Thou shall not kill, period.
So how does the church or the Christians justify executions? In my opinion, the church is a social affair which has little to do with spiritually.
