My son is 11 1/2 months, he uses Isomil Advance. His grandmother says one year then he can be off formula. I say about a year and a half, because babies still develop and need the vitamins and nurishment from the formula. When my daughter was a baby she was on Isomil as well and I slowly switched her to regular milk when she was about 20 months. What do you think?

Twelve months is when he can be switched to cow's milk by doctor's standards (which yyou should already know if you were going to his regular check-ups!) But if you want to spend the money you can get Isomil Advance 2 which is for older babies. The problem with not weaning them off at 12 months is that the baby ends up getting full off of formula and not eating solids as much as he should be at this age. Also, he can gain an excessive amount of weight if he is drinking formula and eating table foods. Babies should have some chub on them, but it is possible for a baby to be obese. I think you should switch over to cow's milk at 12 months like the doctor says. If you're concerned about nourishment and vitamins, companies like Gerber and Similac also make vitamin drops for babies his age, they also make them in a gummie bear type, too.

My daughter was weaned at 9 months and was taking solids pretty good. My grand daughter was weaned at 1 year. It really depends on the child and how they are accepting solids. But, 11/2 is kind of too old for the bottle.

i began toddler nutrition at 5 months of age. It relies upon on in case your toddler is waiting for nutrition. seem for some signs and indications like observing what you devour perpetually or in case your toddler does not choose head help. little ones can bypass off formula at round a million 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous, milk. definite they could besides drink water.

Normally, the ped. will advice you to take him off of formula when she is a yr. old... you would start with Skim Milk... now, you are giving him Insomil so I take it she is drinking soy based formula?... If that is the case it might be harder for her to take in milk because she is use to soy... all babies are different so I would consult your child's ped. At the same time, if you are extremely worried about giving her milk, there are also formulas to help that transition. Infamil has one that is called First Step? (dont quote me on it because i dont really remember)... but I do know that it is for 9 months and toddlers... and it is to help your baby make that transition... I dont know what the difference is between that formula and other formula... BUT PLEASE always consult with your baby's ped before making a decision

normally its anytime after a year but as amother you decide.

my daughter will be weaned onto cows milk whe she is a year old so she isnt fussy when shes older. (i am a very fussy weater and drinker).

depending on what formula you use there may be another one. the one i use has 3 stages my daughter is on the second one and i plan to put her on the third one til she is around a year old.

cows milk is just as nutrious as formula and as long as you give your baby veg then he will get all the vitamins from them.

My son and daughter were both totally off by 9 months. They were both eating nothing but tablefoods by then so my doctor said they didn't need to be on it. If your child is eating well and gets plenty of nutrition that way the formula is no longer necessary. There is nothing they can get from the formula they cannot get from eating table foods, baby food, etc. if they eat well.

i have three children and i switched all three when they were one year old but ive heard of children being on it longer. when they turn one they need the fat from whole milk to help their brains develop. i suggest talking to your childs doctor and see was he advises.
