just wondering...

ok, so someone called me a prep one time. I told a couple of my friends that I was a prep, and they were like, "You are not", like I wasn't good enough to be preppy. I think I am, but I just want to get it straight. Also, do you have to be a chearleader or popular to be a prep? I have a lot of friends, but not with the 'cool' people.

The name comes from the style of dress that is worn by kids who go to preparatory schools - aka 'prep' schools. Usually that means rich kids who like to wear Polo, Izod, khaki colored pants; Think 'golf course casual'. Plaid patterns, bright colors, turned up collars, ties worn with long sleeve shirts and shorts, loafers, etc.

Personally, I think prep and preppy are different things. Prep is someone who is smart, happy all the time, in many clubs and on a team like the common Cheerleading. now being preppy, is another thing, you can be preppy at anytime. Its just be really happy and energetic

Distinguished, always dressed appropriately and neatly. One who has or comes from a family with a lot of money. Comes from the word Prep School, meaning preparatory school. Usually rich people attend these schools.

Hope I hoped. I feel sure you will also get an answer from MAN. He is haunting all of us.

ok im a senior in high school & ive seen all different kinds of prep from cheerleaders to people who wear jeans w/ high heels

if u shop @ the gap, anne taylor, ralph lauren, tommy hilfiger, upscale stores
preppy ppl tend 2 have high standards when it comes to clothes & life in general (own biased opinion) usually they don't do hard core drinking and drugs and they take care of themselves when it comes to how they look. if you have to ask, youre probably not but what does it matter? youre you. get used to that before you try to define yourself as part of a group you dont even know about
