The first one is acetone. I look this stuff up by going to the search bar and typing the formula name followed by the word chemistry. So when i typed "C3H6O chemistry" I got acetone.

They key to the answers is the formula CnH2n+2. That is the formula of a saturated hydrocarbon, one with all single bonds. CnH2n has a double bond or one ring. CnH2n-2 has two double bonds, two rings, or one double bond and one ring. These differences of 2H's are called the points of unsaturation. If O is in the formula also, that does not affect the answer.

C3H6O is the type CnH2nO. So it is a square of three CH2's with one O (one ring), CH3CH2CH=O (one double bond), or CH2=CHCH2OH (one double bond). CH3CH=CH-OH doesn't count, because for esoteric reasons you'll learn later, it's the same as the second compound.

C4H6 is CnH2n-2. So it has two double bonds, CH2=CH-CH=CH2, a double bond and a ring, or two rings. For double bond + ring, there is a square with a double bond, triangle with carbon attached with double bonds in two places inside the ring or from the triangle to C=CH2.

The point of the question is that you are to figure out all the possibilities, and they can be many.
