It all depends on the boy. Sorry. It really does. Many 10-year-old boys would be interested in a microscope or a magnetic building set or a chemistry set or a woodburning set or things like that. Others would love a new book from a favorite author or a subscription to a nature magazine or sports magazine or kids' magazine. Then there are those that would enjoy music; since tastes vary widely, even at age 10, a gift card to a music store would be safest if your 10-year-old recipient likes music. Computer games would come under the same heading: get him a gift card to choose one himself.

Then there are the 10-year-olds who would love a new basketball or football or soccerball or baseball, or some of the accessories that go with one of those. Does he have a bicycle or a scooter or some other kid-powered mode of transport? Accessories for that may be appreciated.

Still other boys that age would dearly love new clothes or shoes or even grooming accessories. Since I don't know this kid, I can only give vague suggestions. Hope it helps anyway.

For me, the best present i can think of to give to a 10 year old boy is a guitar! So that he'll have the passion for music. He'll be interested to write songs and so that he'll e able to develop his talent in singing. We might not know the future of this boy but you can try. Second present i can think of is a drum. I'm a music lover so, what if one day this boy has the voice of Steven Tyler, the vocalist of Aerosmith or teh late Kurt Cobain.
That's all i can think of.

What is the budget?
Card games such as Pokemon or Yugioh will be a good choice for about $10.
Books are always a good choice.
If you have the money, go for Playstation 3.

This is a loaded question. It all depends on the price you're paying.
You probably can't go wrong with a joke book.
Kids love telling jokes to their friends and family etc..
You wouldn't believe how many are available at barnesandnoble.com
also, kids that age love electronics such as remote control cars, and most kids love music instruments, such as a harmonica, etc.
