as men we have to act like we don't care even though it is painful on the inside, besides the fact that i'm much older than 22.

Because no matter how much anyone denies it... u still care for that person. It's natural instinct for a human to care for - not about, an individual for which they may have spent time and feelings on in the past. Most people say they don't care... It's a front, and a common state of mind that allows the person to protect themselves, and move on. The strong feelings subside over time - They call that healing.

Depends what you are passionate about. I quit my job, and eventhough in my head I didn't care, I still got fired up about the same things during my final two weeks of employment that I did while I was not looking for a new job. I think it's pretty normal. I;d be more worried if you were completely numb to things. Apathy is worse then caring too much.

that is what makes us humans different from animals. even if you say you don't care anymore, you still have a conciousness that will remind you of that particular even. Especially if you had to make up your mind that you don't care anymore. because if you really didn't care, it would come natural it wouldn't be something you'd have to make a decision about.

I don't know. I guess I really do care. Things always bother me. I just have to keep myself busy.

Don't know if you are speaking about yourself or someone else. I'd have to guess that there are some unresolved issues or some guilt. Once they are cleared up and there is forgiveness, then you can move on.
