Yes, but it takes anywhere from 3 to 5 different programs all working together in order to work. Also, understand that burning backup copies of your dvds is NOT a given right, but to do it IS a true gift from God! :-)
For most dvds:
DVDshrink
and
Whatever came with your computer (Nero/Roxio/Sonic).
For newer Sony and Disney dvds:
The 2 programs listed above
AND
RipIt4me
FixVTS
DVD Decryptor
(download and install DVD Shrink first, it will work on MOST dvds, except the new Sony & Disney. For that, next download and install RipIt4me www.ripit4me.com Under the TOOLS of ripit4me will be 2 links to the net where you can download and install FixVTS and DVD Decryptor. For ones that won't copy through DVD shrink, just put your dvd in your burner and click RipIt4Me and click the One-Click Copy button and using the last 2 installed programs, it will do the rest for you. So just sit back until it's done. When it's done, then open the file it created with the DVDshrink. Save this file to a new folder on your desktop. When that's done just close the program out and open the program that came with your computer/burner, such as Nero, Roxio, Sonic. Click to create a data dvd or the easiest method your program has. I use Sonic and all I have to do after opening up Sonic is also open the new folder I saved the movie in on my desktop. I drag the Audio folder to the big button on my Sonic and drop it there. Then I do the same with the Video folder. Or you can just click ADD FILES and add the audio/video folders that way. Then click BURN or BURN DISK (make sure you have a blank in the drive). Your backup copy is almost ready. Easy, huh? Only takes about 45 mins from begining to end though and even less if it's NOT a sony/disney movie. good luck :-)

Well, alot of the newer DVD's have what is called "copy-protection" which keeps you from not only copying the DVD's onto other DVD's, but even prevents you from copying it to a blank VHS tape. It will say on the back of the DVD if "this DVD is copy-protected". So you have to watch that. Otherwise, you can
