If you buy it early in the morning you get more because it got cool and contracted during thr night. It will expand in your tank during the day. You will lose less as fumes when it is cooler also.

Actually, morning is best because the liquid volume has cooled during the night and the cooled aliquot is higher in BTUs/per volume.

For price, be advised that prices change at around 10 A.M. for the most part. So, if prices are rising, pump in the morning. If they are falling, get it in the afternoon.

later in evening. you should never get it when the fuel is being supplied by the delivery truck,because it stirs up the gas & sediment scan get in your tank. most deliveries are in mornings or early afternoon.

night, b/c it is cold and gasoline shrinks (so a liter weighs more), and also because there's less people.
