I don't think it is known. Amlodipine camsylate is a "knock off" of amlodipine besylate, which is a drug used for treating angina and hypertension. (Camsylate and besylate are different "salts") Pfizer, which makes amlodipine besylate says that there is no proof that the camsylate version works in the same way and they consider it a "counterfeit" medication. (I guess you have to decide how much you trust a giant pharmaceutical company on that one.) The side effects for amlodipine besylate : Dizziness, fatigue, flushing, fluid retention and swelling, headache, palpitations (fluttery or throbbing heartbeat) Would they be the same for the camsylate version. Who knows?

Amlodipine is the generic for Narvasc which is a calcium channel blocker hypertensive medicine. This med has many side effects including headaches, syncope, muscle cramps, SOB, dyspnea, eye pain, tinnitus, flushing, edema, nausea, sleep disturbances, depression, vomiting, arrhythmias, and many more. You may benefit from metoprolol (a beta blocker) and enalapril (a ACE inhibitor) regimen, along with HCTZ (a diurectic) which has been known to be better tolerated in some people who have adverse reactions with amlodipine. Check with your doctor am ask him/her if you could benefit from this regimen.
