I'm getting done laser on some parts of my face and I'm a bit nervous because this is an emotional process. Please give some motivation, advice and talk about your experiences (if you'd like). Thank you very much!!

i have had the exact same thing done. i have been very self conscious about it since high school, now in my early 30s. It is a hereditary condition in my family and I wasn't willing to do electroloysis. I have heard too many horror stories. I

started doing the waxing thing in my senior year of high school. But the promise of permanent removal sold me. I have been going off and on for the last 5 years or so. Maybe 2 - 3 treatments a year. This is not a one time thing. Hair grows in multiple cycles, so you will need to go back more than once. It is expensive, but the boost in my confidence is worth it. I don't have to worry about people staring. I am probably one or two treatments from being done and I am completely satisfied.

I had one very bad experience my first try. But that was in 1998 when it was relatively new technology. I got massive burns and scabs due to an allergic reaction to the numbing cream I was given. I have the ideal skin/hair color condition. super light skin and very dark hair, so I max out most machines with what I can handle. However, I was allergic to the cream.

I am now at a certified dermatologist and have been going there for 5 years and love him. I barely turn red. I do not use numbing cream as I found it unnecessary. The whole procedure feels like a bad rubber band snap.

I would totally recommend it. Good Luck!

Are you getting it done on your upper lip? Did they ask you to shave the hair off so the regrowth will be thicker and easier to laser? What type of laser are they using?
When I had it done, it hurt! It was like rubber bands snapping on your face. I think they have you shave your facial hair so you have to return.
Hopefully technology has improved since I've had it done.
Let me know how it goes............I might consider doing it again.

I'm hoping that you're getting it done only because you REALLY need it. Most people who do get laser hair removal never really should have in the first place.

Laser hair removal is “permanent” hair removal method but is expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
