I remember my Bio teacher saying something about us needing lungs because we wouldn't be able to get enough o2 from diffusion through our skin alone...and also *random* in that Bond film where the woman found dead was painted gold, they said they couldn't paint her whole body gold because she'd (suffocate)? Don't know if that's at all related lol but...just answer the main question plz lol.

Buddy Epson, Jed from The Beverly Hillbillies show, was supposed to be The Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz but he couldn't tolerate the metallic silver paint that covered a lot of his skin. He became too hot, so I heard. The paint not only prevented him from normal perspiration, i.e., the evaporation of water (H2O) on the skin while under the hot studio lights, but that, in turn, shot his internal temperature to over 100 degrees. The skin helps ones body regulate its own temperature (a thermostat, if you will). If we sprayed our entire body with aluminum-based antiperspirant, it would have the same effect. That said, I'd say the greatest amount (if not all) of the oxygen passing through the skin would be in the form of perspiration, not "diffusion".

No. We don't breathe through our skin in appreciable amounts. Our Cornea is supplied by O2 from the outside world but beside that most of our bodies require a respiratory system

watch a show called myth busters that tested if you could live if painted totally in gold paint,

i know we do have O2 diffusion through mucosa tissue, for example inside of mouth, genitalia and anus, i know its not pretty to know you can breathe through your anus, but its true
