i'm majoring in fashion design/fashion and merchandising.. and nordstrom, bloomingdales, and macys all have really gorgeous dresses! try to not get a neck line that's too low, and you'll be fine! there are little boutiques around my area that have pretty dresses.. but i tried to give u the well-known stores that i think are best for dresses..

Go to an upscale dept store-Macy's, Nordstroms, Dillards. An of course http://comparisondotcom.com/prom.php they would have AMAZING sales right-about now!

There is a store named Deb that has prom type of dresses that are fairly inexpensive. JC Penney and Sears carry them, too. You can always look online. Places like ebay are good because people want to get rid of theirs and you can save a lot of money.

Go to Arden B. online. It's ArdenB.com. They have the coolest and cutest dresses. They aren't too expensive and you can definetly wear them again.

i'm unsure what ones are in vogue yet out of your parent description i could advise skater attire or comparable, I even have hips and a tummy and that i discover that peplum attire do no longer compliment my shape

i don't know where u live but at the mall if there is a deb try that or maybe jcpennys but i know they have dresses at deb
